Our Story, Mission, and Values
Fledgling Therapies was founded to bridge a gap in schools. Occupational therapy is often delivered, rather than understood and experienced meaningfully by students. Children often show up to OT sessions unsure of the purpose or the goal they are working on. Teacher's are often given EHCPs and plans and expected to understand and implement them into a busy day. Fledgling understands that these expectations are unhelpful for children and educators. We strive for better. We put pupil voice first. We support educators.
As a qualified teacher and an OT, Molly understands the demands placed on classroom teachers and will always ensure therapy plans are realistic and achievable throughout the school day.
Fledgling Therapies is built around 3 core principles:
Always listening-Children and young people's voices always come first.
Meaningful and measurable therapy-Goals will never be written as a tick box. They will mean something and they will be measured.
Environments matter-Schools are dynamic and often challenging places. Strategies and adaptations can be made to make them work for our children.
